Previously `RecursorVal.getInduct` would return the prefix of the
recursor’s name, which is unlikely the right value for the “derived”
recursors in nested recursion. The code using `RecursorVal.getInduct`
seems to expect the name of the inductive type of major argument here.
If we return that name, this fixes#5661.
This bug becomes more visible now that we have structural mutual
recursion.
Also, to avoid confusion, renames the function to ``getMajorInduct`.
right now, in order to find out how many auxilary datatype are in a
mutual group of inductive with nested data type, one has to jump
through hoops like this:
```
private def numNestedInducts (indName : Name) : MetaM Nat := do
let .inductInfo indVal ← getConstInfo indName | panic! "{indName} is an inductive"
let .recInfo recVal ← getConstInfo (mkRecName indName) | panic! "{indName} has a recursor"
return recVal.numMotives - indVal.all.lengt
```
The `InductiveVal` data structure already has `.isNested : Bool`, so it
seems to be a natural extension to beef that up to `.numNested: Nat`.
This touched kernel code.
Motivation: prevent changes in the scalar fields layout from breaking
C++ code.
Ideally, we should do that for all constructors, and implement a tool
that creates the C++ functions automatically for us.
We don't do it because we will delete most of this code after we
finish the Lean4 transition.
This flag was used by the kernel to decide whether the following
heuristic should be used to avoid unfolding `f` at `is_def_eq`.
f a =?= f b
-----------
a =?= b
This heuristic was introduced at Lean1 after a discussion with
Georges Gontier. Since this discussion, we added support for
caching failures of this heuristic. This proved to be much more
effective to attack the performance problems.
Moreover, we do not even use this flag in the `type_context::is_def_eq`
used during elaboration.
The current codebase contains only one place where this flag was set to
`false`: coercions generated at structure_cmd. This change was
made at commit
1c70514231
in the Lean2 codebase when we were not caching failures and
the kernel type checker was also used during elaboration.
